The Early Symptoms of Vitiligo. The development of a skin condition takes time. Of the many conditions, one of them is single-handedly driving the research to find a cure and it is vitiligo. This is a rare condition where the skin loses it’s pigmentation. It happens to the young and even appears in older people with darker skin tones and it affects 1% of the population.

When it appears, it comes as a surprise to the person with the condition and to others around them. One can never be certain what the exact cause is but with the early symptoms of vitiligo, there is a chance that a process can begin in restoring the lost pigmentation.

What To Look For – Symptoms of Vitiligo

The reasons for this condition come down to a few things such as genetics. If anyone in the family has had this condition than it can be passed down. When it begins to happen, there are some very obvious symptoms such as; Normal feeling skin, as opposed to the pigmented surface, will gradually disappear.

Those with darker skin tones are able to see these areas are more defined and the loss of pigment around the eyes, hands, and areas where there is a distinct contrast in tone like the palms.

Getting Tested And Treatments

If there is a generational connection to this condition, it might show up in a biopsy. If the levels of hormones are high than this will show during those tests. Some research as shown that anyone who may have been diagnosed with melanoma might have an increased chance of showing symptoms of vitiligo.

The process is gradual and other than these check ups there is no way to know for sure if you will develop the condition and if there it’s new than there are some ways in how to treat vitiligo.

Dermatologists are constantly researching ways to recover the pigmentation that is lost and many of these treatments have provided some results. The vitiligo natural treatments that have been developed are used to stimulate the immune system since it is shown that there is some relation to the condition. Some of the treatments are:

Vitamin B6 and Dapsone – this is a combination applied with some lotions used. Over time the recovery of some of the pigmentation successful and with the use of different kinds of lamps.

Skin Camouflage and Cosmetics – This is pretty much the same thing, where covering up the affected areas from sight using a foundation or make-up that matches the same skin tone.

Artificial Light Therapy – is a vitiligo natural treatment which is more commonly used for both the home and at a medical facility. This uses a UVB/PUVA light and a combination of topical creams which stimulate the skin to produce the pigment. This has been shown to recover a lot of the pigment.
